Celebrating Spay/Neuter Month
February is National Spay/Neuter Month! On the last Tuesday of February, World Spay Day shines a spotlight on the lifesaving power of spay/neuter and the need for affordable services, particularly in under-served communities.
In honor of World Spay Day 2015, throughout the month of February, Found Animals is asking spay/neuter programs across the country to show us their “50 Shades of Spay”. At the end of the month, five deserving organizations will each receive a $2,500 grant from Found Animals – and together we will hopefully raise awareness of the importance of spay/neuter.
By the end of February 2015, MN SNAP will have provided and performed over 60,000 subsidized spay/neuter surgeries since 2010 to those in need. As a result of our frantic pace and the sheer size of the demand, our mobile surgical unit, with over 140,000 miles on it, has taken quite a beating. Help us win this much needed grant to keep our mobile up and running safely to continue our mission.
How can you help? It’s simple. Like Minnesota Spay Neuter Assistance Program on Facebook and over the next couple weeks watch for photos with #50ShadesofSpay on some of the thousands of animals we’ve spayed or neutered. Like and share the photos with your friends!
