MN SNAP Sponsors TNR Blitz

MN SNAP, like many animal advocates, supports Trap Neuter Return (TNR) as a humane approach to reducing the free roaming cat population.  Feral cats are not socialized to live with people.  They are fearful and generally avoid people.  It is estimated that there are millions of feral cats living in the United States and shelters are overwhelmed by unwanted litters of kittens born to feral cats.

This week, we are partnering with four rescues to target different areas in Minneapolis.  Volunteers will go out to different feral cat colonies and live trap the cats.  We will then spay/neuter them and return them to their colonies after they have recovered from the surgery.  We hope these efforts will reduce the number of kittens conceived and born to feral cats this spring.

Thank you to Pet Project Rescue, Feline Rescue, Secondhand Hounds and Tuff Start Rescue for sponsoring the spay/neuter surgeries of the cats trapped this week and/or your volunteer support.
