Dr. Kim and the U of M Externship

In January, Dr. Kim’s team at MACC began hosting 4th year veterinary students, who will spend two-week externships observing and practicing spay/neuter technique. Many students are not able to gain the hands-on experience in vet school that is needed to confidently and competently perform surgery on clients’ pets when they start their careers. Having them practice under the supervision of a high-volume, high-quality, spay/neuter veterinarian is a great way for them to gain the skills they need, and gain exposure to the reality of pet overpopulation. Students are scheduled through May, and there are two externships in July and September.
