Keep the Kitties Calm All Year Long

Just like a Doctor’s appointment, a visit to the vet can be “petrifying” for some pets. Our caring Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians do everything they can to reduce anxiety for our furry (and human) clients but, MN SNAP is doing more. In addition to our separate check-ins, exclusive cat room and loving volunteer attention, we have introduced calming pheromone diffusers and sprays to our protocols to keep our kitten and cat clients calm.
Pheromones are a type of chemical communication that all cats use to interact with each other and the world around them. The “messages” are released from special glands around their bodies. All cats, big and small, young and old, produce a wide range of pheromones and understand these signals. Different pheromones send different “messages” and influence behaviors.
Pheromones can be used to reduce stress-induced behavior in cats. These sprays and diffusers mimic the natural pheromones that send calming messages to cats. They are a natural part of cat-only communication with no side effects. Click here for more pheromone FAQs.
We’ve added these products as priorities to our Amazon (click here) and Chewy (click here) wishlists and appreciate donations from any retailer and drop offs!
Since we introduced these sprays, our veterinary team has noticed a “reduction in the overall level of stress and fear” in our cat clients. They have observed it helps “take the edge off” allowing cats to relax and be more comfortable while they wait for surgery and in recovery.
