Grand Portage Clinic Partnership

MN SNAP spent several incredible days in July in Grand Portage, providing spay and neuter services for the beloved pets of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. We’re deeply grateful to have been invited into this community — and we didn’t do this work alone.
A heartfelt thank you to The Bond Between, our dedicated partner who helped secure generous funding, and to the Boreal Waters Community Foundation, whose $25,000 grant made this clinic possible. Because of their support, we were able to send two sets of veterinary teams to deliver high-quality care directly to the community.
Together, in four days we did:
- 🐾 85 spay and neuter surgeries
- 💉 121 vaccines administered
- 📍 36 microchips implanted
- 💊 198 additional medications provided, including recovery pain meds and flea/tick prevention.
Our deep thanks to the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa for welcoming us so warmly onto their land and into their lives. It’s a privilege and honor to serve your community.
